Former Housewife Charged In College Bribery Case

Felicity Huffman, the Emmy-winning former Desperate Housewives star, and more than 40 others were indicted in a multimillion-dollar scheme by wealthy parents to get their kids into top schools with the aides of bribes and false athletic qualifications.

Federal prosecutors announced "Operation Varsity Blues" case March 12 and dozens of people – including Hollywood actresses and wealthy businessmen – stand accused of having bought their children’s way into elite colleges and universities.

Authorities called it the biggest college admissions scam ever prosecuted by the U.S. Justice Department. As officials said, parents spent from $200,000 to $6.5 million to guarantee their children’s admission.

All University of Southern California applicants who are connected to the admissions cheating scheme will be denied admission, university spokesman Gary Polakovic said Wednesday.
