Lady Gaga will play the black widow in the film about the murder of the founding grandson of Gucci founder

After much success in "A Star Is Born," Oscar winner Lady Gaga is gearing up for a new film about the murder of Maurizio Gucci, the grandson of the founder of the Italian luxury fashion house Gucci.

Ridley Scott, known for his works as "Gladiator" and "The Martian," will direct and produce the film, in which Gaga plays Patrizia Reggiani, Maurice's ex-wife. She was convicted in 1998 of staging the murder of her husband, who was the heir to the Gucci Empire. We recall that in 1995, Mauritius was shot by a paid assassin.

Reggiani had two daughters with Gucci's grandson, and Maurizio reportedly abandoned his wife because of a younger woman. According to a Times report, Reggiani has become known in the Italian media as the "Black Widow." She was jailed for 18 years before being released in 2016 for good behavior.

According to Variety, the script for the film will be written by Roberto Bentivegna and will be based on Sarah Gay Forden's book "The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamor, and Greed".

This will be a new acting milestone for singer Gaga. Meanwhile, as she prepares for a new role, Gaga is busy launching her own makeup collection and appearing in Las Vegas.
